TVS has launched the 2019 Apache RTR 180 with single-channel ABS, priced at Rs 91,409 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The 2019 iteration of TVS’ 180cc motorcycle features new paint options, including Pearl White, Gloss Black, T Grey, Matte Blue and Matte Red. It also gets a slightly refreshed instrument cluster, forged handlebar-ends and a premium seat cover, which TVS says feels like Alcantara. The motorcycle also features frame sliders mounted on the crash guard. Apart from these changes, the new bike is the same as the previous-gen model.
The instrument panel gets an LCD display showing speedometer, odometer, two trip meters, clock, lap timer and fuel gauge, with a large analogue tachometer. The engine, alloy wheels and exhaust get an all-black treatment and overall fit and finish of the Apache RTR 180 is quite good. The Apache RTR 180 is powered by a 177.4cc, single-cylinder, four-stroke engine that develops 17.5PS of power and 15.5Nm of maximum torque. The 2019 TVS Apache RTR 180 is the most affordable motorcycle in India to offer dual-channel ABS as an option. This is the variant we’d suggest as it makes the motorcycle a lot more safer than the non-ABS one.
Serving the performance purists in the 150cc and above class of bikes, the Apache range of motorcycles from TVS comes with an extremely peppy and grunty motor coupled with equally enthusiastic handling dynamics.
